What will high schools look like for the next generation? (Section 07)

In class today we discussed if the current education system is in need of some sort of reform. Your intitial answer was, of course, based on your personal experience. Whether or not you believe some sort of reform is needed or not a new question that arises is that of what will high school be like for the next generation? Will high school and the education system remain the same or will they both be vastly different from what we experienced?

In writing your response please refer to any of the selected readings (the education essays), Ken Robinson's "Do Schools Kill Creativity?" speech/video personal experience. Be sure that you fully explain your position. You may refer to the essay that we are currently writing in class, as well.

All responses are due by 7:30 AM on 2/17/11.

  1. I think that high school world be differnt from now. As the time goes by student will not know what they want to do with their life. So the school system would be changed from what it is now

  2. I think that high school education will be the same for the next generation. The schools are giving the students all the things that they have to know to be successful in life. If the students put 100% everyday they will learn something and get a good education without changing the system.

  3. i think that high school will remain the same for the next generation. Students will get a good education if they actually try and if they have the right motivation.

  4. I think high school will be different later on in life. As we students, as well as future generations, advance through life, we will start to know what we want with our lives and what occupation we may be aiming for. Eventually schools and the educational department will see this and in turn adjust the educational system to fit our learning needs to contribute to our goals for the future.

  5. I think that for the next generation schools will contiune changing like it already is doing. Also its the kids who make the educational system because some kids make it harder for themselves when they dont pay attention in class.School for the next generation will either be easier or maybe harder depending on the students grades and performance.

  6. i think that high schools would probably look the same depending on the area. Some kids go to schools and dont care for it just barley pass it thats why so many kids are dropping out of school. so i think in the future the dropping out rate will increase alot.

  7. I believe that school education will vastly change because as time goes on new people will find new and possibly better ways to change to schools education system. New teachers will find a better way to teach their students, New board of education workers will find new ideas, and the students will possibly find a better way to learn. The education system will in no doubt change but i think it all depends on time.

  9. i think highschool will change in the future. i remember my cousins went to highschool and they use to cut everyday and still pass. there text book were destroyed. Now and days schools are more cleaner and have more education. Calculators have been upgraded and find new ways to teach the students. And in the future it can be better than now.
