"Do Schools Kill Creativity?" Response (Section 07)

After watching the video of Ken Robinson's speech, entitled "Do Schools Kill Creativity?" I want you to think about the question his speech asks us all. Do schools kill creativty? Does Ken Robinson pose a valid argument? Do you think that your knowledge and role as a student would improve if your being educated incorporated more creativity and freedom?

Here is the link for the video if you wish to rewatch it:

  1. I think that schools do kill creativity. Students are given the classes that they have to take by the schools. Students cannot pick their own classes. Yes. Ken Robinson does pose a valid argument. Yes. I do think that my knowledge and role as a student would improve if my education incorporated more creativity and freedom.

  2. I think there are two answers, yea and no. First i think yes, because if i have a talent of singing i should have a class of music. This will help me improve my talent in everyway. Then no, because the school prepares you for college by teaching you advance math, english, science, global. Both answers are good for the streets and the school. This will help you become a better person in a way.

  4. I think schools kill creativity because everyone nowadays are taught that being wrong is bad, instead of encouraging us to express ourselves in what ever way we choose. Ken passes a valid arguement because he is 100% correct in his speech about how schools kill our creativity. I do think that my role as a student would improve if I was educated with more creativity and freedom because it would cause me to want to focus more and work harder in school.

  5. I believe that schools do kill creativity because of the lack of creative educational courses given. Ken Robinson does pose a valid argument because he talks about how the classes for the students is chosen for them, I think that if the student pick their own classes then creativity would flourish much more. I think that incorporating more creativity in our environment wouldn't only improve our own interest but it will also expand our imagination and be able to think about things that we normally wouldn't. I also believe that it would helps us with our daily school work as well.

  6. I think that at some point depending on what the situation is school can kill creativity. The reason being is because kids are afraid of saying and doing what they believe is right without getting in trouble.

I think that schhol does kill creativity and Ken shows a vaild arguement on why and i agree with him.Kids should be given the chance to choose what they are intersted in along with learning the regular learning system of math science language and history.
