Survival by Any Means Necessary.

Here's another report about creative survival: Right here!

While on the topic of surviving by any means necessary, here is a campy, cheesey song about doing things by any means necessary.

    Sebulba vs. Techtropolis

Locked in head-to-head competition, young Anakin Skywalker attempts to fight off his rival Sebulba, in the dangerous and vicious sporting competition of Pod Racing. There are many hindrances that cloud his path to victory. A faulty engine, wild explosions, greedy and aggressive racers, and near-death encounters, are the competitions’ illusive strategies to knock nine year old Anakin out of the race. My pod racing competition was designing and building a city for the Future City Competition.
The goal was to design a city based solely on imagination in order to portray what it would be like in fifty years with the introduction of nano-technology and green technologies. We were given an extremely tight dead line and a hefty task to complete. My team a group of three boys and one girl worked hastily every afternoon, after school, trying to put together the city. We were racing against an aggressive clock. Just like how Anakin ran into engine problems in the beginning of the race, we ran into design problems and malfunctions. Sebulba suddenly side swiped us when we couldn’t decide what to build. Sebulba beat us down when it came to wiring the electrical circuitry. Sebulba pushed into the canyon wall when we had to tear off certain buildings that did not fit the build. However, through all Sebulba put us through, we didn’t give up. We knew we had to complete what we started.
We persevered to the end. My teammates and I took time out of our classes to complete the build. The day before the competition, at 4:30 pm, we completed the project. We managed to take a bold display to the competition the next day. Although it wasn’t the greatest display in the competition, and although we didn’t win, we won our pod race. It was our garage built pod racer. We felt accomplished and proud of our accomplishment, even before we realized we had actually won “best cultural resources.”
